Exclusive: Beckham says farewell to United fans
March 14, 2007

Beckham, who was ruled out of the Europeam XI match due to injury, attended the match along with his wife Victoria. Here is the transcript from his half-time speech:
“The time I spent at this club was the best time in my whole football career,”
“I’ve waited four years to actually come back and to actually say thank you to the fans and the people of the club,” he said.
“I think I wouldn’t have got through many things without the people in this stadium,” he said.
“Everybody knows here that you’ve got the best manager in the world at this club,” he told the crowd to rapturous applause.
“I think this team is going to be incredible, and I think they’re going to go on and win many things, not just this year but throughout many years to come,” he said. “So good luck and thank you.”

Hey, who’s Fred Red? Thanks for the email about the videos… Especially this one about Beckham’s farewell speech… I’ve always liked Becks, he was a dedicated, loyal player when he was in Man U… Everybody knows he loves Man U to hell and back… It was a sad day when he left, and it’s great that he was finally able to say what he wanted to say to everybody at the club – the fans, Sir Alex, the management…
