Rafael da Silva gets Brazil call up for USA friendly
July 27, 2010
United defender Rafael da Silva has been included in new Brazil coach Mano Menezes’ first squad. This is the first time Rafael has been called up for the Brazil senior squad. Brazil play USA in a friendly in August, and United’s young right-back might well be making his debut in this match in New Jersey.
Just four players from Brazil’s World Cup 2010 squad have been retained
by Mano Menezes: Dani Alves, Ramires, Thiago Silva and Robinho. There are total eleven debutants in this revamped 24-man squad. Much to the surprise of many big names like Kaka, Luis Fabiano and Julio Cesar all miss out.
Fergie: Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez could make ManUtd debut in Wednesday’s friendly against the MLS All-Stars
July 27, 2010
According to the Gaffer, after having linked up with rest of the squad on Monday, depending on his condition, Chicharito could make his United debut on Wednesday against MLS All-Stars. Fergie also expressed his delight on getting the youngster just in time before the World Cup.
“We were lucky that we identified him before the World Cup and got the deal done,
“If we’d have waited until after the tournament he could have cost us maybe two to three times the money. It was good work by our scouting department , they did a really good job.
“It depends on his condition when he joins us in Houston but we hope to give him a bit of football on Wednesday night.”

Fergie, Giggs, Scholes, Van der Sar & Fletcher took part in the Million Dollar Challenge, where they tried to hit a giant Hublot watch to raise money for UNICEF.
Van der Sar came the closest to hit the target (I wonder if that is a good thing or not?)
