Match of the Matches: Year 2009 was full of so many awesome matches. But one match stands out from the rest, the comeback victory against Aston Villa at Old Trafford. In the years to come, this game will be most talked about than any other ManUtd match in 2009. Ronaldo scored two incredible goals, but it was the debutant, Federico Macheda, whole stole the headlines with his injury time winner.

Cristiano Ronaldo has once again made us United fans proud! In the early hours of today, he was named European Footballer of the Year ahead of Lionel Messi and Fernando Torres. He is the fourth United player to have won this prestigious award. Previously Ballon d’Or was won by Denis Law (1964), Bobby Charlton (1966), George Best (1968).

Manchester United are delighted to announce the signing of Dimitar Berbatov.
The Bulgarian international striker, 27, has signed a four-year contract after joining from Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee.
As part of the deal, United striker Fraizer Campbell will spend the rest of the 2008/09 season on loan at White Hart Lane.
Upon becoming a United player, Dimitar told ManUtd.com: “Joining Manchester United is a dream come true for me. I look forward to playing my part in helping this club win more honours in the years to come.”
Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted to finally capture the elegant striker and admitted: “This is a key signing. Dimitar is one of the best and most exciting strikers in world football.
“His style and ability will give the team a different dimension and I’m sure he will be a popular player with the fans.”
Manchester United unveil new UEFA Champions League third kit for season 2008/09

The new UEFA Champions League third kit for season 2008/09 is inspired by the success of 1968 when United became the first English club to become Kings of Europe. The blue shirt has a number of details that celebrate the achievement including the embroidery of the words ‘May 29th 1968′ and ‘40th Year Anniversary’ around the crest.
The players had their say on the new kit:
