Nani scored a bizarre goal in the 84th minute to make it ManUtd 2-0 Tottenham, and obviously kill the game. Spurs fans and some sections of media might moan that this was a controversial goal, but to be fair, it was a blunder by Heurelho Gomes AND referee Mark Clattenburg.
While the TV broadcast was still showing the replay of what seemed like a sure penalty, Nani took full advantage of the situation. Frustrated of not getting the penalty, Nani pushed the ball away using his hands. Somehow the referee missed this incident and thus failed to award a free-kick to Spurs. Gomes, assuming that the referee had blown the whistle, placed the ball inside his D to take the free-kick. Nani realizing that the ball was still in play, guided the ball to the back of the net. 2-0, Game Over!!!
