August 28, 2008

The new UEFA Champions League third kit for season 2008/09 is inspired by the success of 1968 when United became the first English club to become Kings of Europe. The blue shirt has a number of details that celebrate the achievement including the embroidery of the words ‘May 29th 1968′ and ‘40th Year Anniversary’ around the crest.
The players had their say on the new kit:
Cristiano Ronaldo: “This club has a great history. We respect the legends and it’s great for us to put a shirt on that remembers a great team. I think it’s beautiful.”

Silvestre joins the London based French club Arsenal
August 20, 2008
The 31 year old defender has joined the Gunners for an undisclosed fee. Silvestre joined United in 1999 and played 250 games.
But why Silvestre? His being French must have made the decision easier for Wenger who already has many Frenchmen in his current squad:
Abou Diaby
Bacary Sagna
Samir Nasri
William Gallas (captain)
Gaël Clichy
Francis Coquelin
Armand Traoré
Does this mean that one day we will see an All-French Arsenal starting 11?
